A Time for Rebuilding Baseball returned to Darlington Academy after a short absence. The team was coached jointly by Braxton Usher and Victor Gainey. Boys from grades eight through eleven made up the team. Although the season was not deemed a successful one, it prepared the boys for next year. Baseball Team. Front: Coach Victor Gainey. Ready — Set — Okay 1 Spring time. Fun time Although many hours go in to prepare for a game, these cheerleaders manage to have fun while they cheer. 2 Shoot for two. The cheerleaders cheer their team on to a goal The junior Varsity cheerleaders numbered more this year than they ever have. The increased number allowed them to perform many more stunts than they have in the past. During the summer the group attended a cheerleader camp in Columbia. The new routines and discipline they learned were evident during the games and pep rallies. Junior Varsity Cheerleaders. The varsity team experienced coaching changes after the season had begun By midseason the team played as one. The highlight of the regular season matches was the defeat of arch rival, lames F. Brynes Academy. The team went on to the 1-A conference semi-finals. Hard work and dedication made a team that was a threat to all opponents. With a 12-7 record, it was a season that will be remembered for a long while. Varsity Team.
