Wired for Learning Wired for The Beat of Socializing 6 HIGH ENERGY 8 A Team of Champions The season began with a tournament in Charleston which gave a preview of the wonderful season ahead. They played hard, progressive ball. The returning seniors, Andy Casey, Billy Odom, and Huey Aycock, demon- strated their fine soccer skills and en- durance levels, which had been honed through their many years of playing. The team will be sorry to see them go. 1. Eying the goal — Brent Bonnoitt aims for the goal as Billy Odom looks on. 2. Varsity Soccer Team. Standing: Eric Adams, Billy Walton, Brent Bonnoitt. Under the direction of advisor Linda Dargan, the cheerleaders attended a summer workshop at Columbia College. It was there they learned many of the new routines that were done at games. The cheerleaders have done a wonderful job during the games and pep rallies. The cheerleaders cheer their team on to a goal The junior Varsity cheerleaders numbered more this year than they ever have. The increased number allowed them to perform many more stunts than they have in the past. During the summer the group attended a cheerleader camp in Columbia. The new routines and discipline they learned were evident during the games and pep rallies. Junior Varsity Cheerleaders. Seniors at last! It has been twelve fun years. Looking back, I wonder how we made it. Having a small class had many advantages. We went places together, played sports together, and partied together. When graduation arrives, it will be an emotional moment for all of us. It will be as if one big family is split- ting apart. But there is one positive thing to look at, all of us will be starting new and, hopefully, new lives. Looking back ten years from now, we will all feel that family feeling that we once had when we were all together at Darlington Academy. Huey Aycock Editor 1. Senior Class Officers.
