Star Student The Star Student is sponsored on the state- wide level by the Georgia State Chamber of Commerce and in the McIntosh County school system by the Darien Lions Club. Proctor Carr was selected on the basis of his score on the College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test and on his grades for the first semester of his senior year. Star Teacher The Star Teacher, Mr. M. E. Mann, was chosen by the Star Student as the teacher who made the greatest contribution to his scholastic achievement.

I, Annette Beckham, will my ability to skip school without getting caught to Maria Luke, for it seems as though she needs a few lessons. 1, Arthur Branson, will my ability to find the barber shop to all of our Beatles at Darien High School. I, Carolyn Browning, will my twenty points per game to my brother, Sugar Bear in hopes that he might keep up the family tradition. 1, Proctor Carr, will all the bald eagles in McIntosh County to Mr. Williams. I, Leigh Dalby, will my adipose tissue to anyone who will be manager of the girls' team, because she will need it to survive during basketball season. 1, Frances Davis, will my ability to graduate to Margaret Rowe in hopes she'll do the same. I, Sandra Goodrich, will my ability to start gossip to Brenda McIntosh, since she needs it so much. I, Betty Jo Griffin, do will and bequeath my curly eyelashes to Barbara Walker, for I will not be here next year for her to stare at them. I, John Hawthorne, will my ability to get along with Brunswick to any boy who feels worthy. I, Kent Hutchinson, will my ability to work math to Billy Wilkinson because he will need it in Trig next year. 1, Sara Justice, will my natural blonde hair to all those fake blondes. I, Sharon Kicklighter, do will my A W walk to any deserving person. 1, Peter Kittles, will my great ability in science to Billy Wilkinson in hopes that one day he will dissect the monkey. 1, Marie Lanasa, will my ability to keep my mind off the games during the games to any worthy basketball player. I, Clara Lane, will my natural blonde hair to any girl who has to use bleach. I, Jo LaRoche, will my talent for playing ball to Nan Davis, in hopes she will use her talent more wisely. I, Gail Lyons, in order to improve this world, do will my mind, body, soul, charm, personality, and modesty to the entire human race. I, Ike Maulden, will my hair to Mr. Gale because he needs it more each year. I, Shirley McGahee, will my ability of fouling out at games to Marsha Kirkland, hoping she will keep my fine record going. I, Linda Poppell, will my complete understanding of physics to Mr. Williams, in hopes he will realize that he has been all wrong. I, Wallace Poppell, will my sly, sneaky, quiet ways to Judy Denty. I, Karen Redding, will my name Pig to Mrs. Gale, since she gave it to me. I, Maggie Rowe, will my ability to understand Soap Operas to anyone who enjoys them. 1, Junior Ryals, will my ability to sneak a smoke without getting caught to all those unfortunate sophomores and juniors. I, Paulette Ryals, will my ability to flirt to Linda Owens, since she needs it so much. I, Thomas Todd, will my uncanny, unscrupulous walk and hat to anyone who thinks he is able bodied enough to fill my shoes. I, Eunice Turner, will my long straight hair to Diane Huff, because hers only grows one inch every five years. I, Gwen Waters, will all my charm and gaiety at homecoming to Chiro Jr. and Chiro Sr. I, Joe Young, will my size to puny Johnny Skipper. 1, Pat Poppell, would will my big mouth to Marilyn Drury, but she doesn't need it since she is blessed with one already.
