LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL To the Highlander Staff, Faculty, and Student Body: The events and personalities recorded in this publication shall always remind you of some of the happiest days of your life. It is with pride that we remember our association with each other, the success of earlier graduates of this school, and observe progress and achievement on our campus. You are entering into a new era of government and international affairs during these roar- ing sixties. You are living in a golden age, with rapid social, economic, and political changes taking place. It is my hope and desire that you have gained the necessary skills, attitudes and compentencies commensurate with your abilities to meet the challenges which may face you in the future. When you leave Darien High School--within a few months or one, two, or three years-- this edition of your yearbook will still exist.
