Editor Sheila Parish Advisor 9ranees Watkins Advisor Robert Stark Advisor mnwe.cs hkh scmoojc vanvjccs, Dedication Frances Watkins Miss Frances Watkins' influence on the students of D. H.S. has spanned four decades. She began teaching in September of 1935 in room 246, now renumbered as room 245. She taught English for two years and then switched to history and social science. In 1968 Miss Watkins was made the head of the department. In her undivided attention to the development of the young people in Danville, she has been active as an advisor for Girls Club and as make-up advisor for Dramatic Club. She has also helped to chaperone most of the dances and proms during her career. Classified as a staunch supporter of Viking athletics, she hasn't missed many home football, basketball or baseball games, or the home swimming meets. One of Miss Watkins' greatest attributes is her dedication to the MEDLEY. A high school staff member, she became an assistant advisor and then served as head advisor from 1941 until 1975. During this span of 34 years, she helped over 500 students in the yearbook field and inspired several to go on to other journalistic pursuits. Active in community affairs, she has served this year as a representative on the Vermilion County Bicentennial Commission thus reenforcing her love of history. In this Bicentennial year the MEDLEY staff of 1976 dedicates this yearbook to Miss Frances Watkins, a glorious woman and a truly devoted teacher.... 2 When making new friendships Consider the quality of character .... Although the sophomore class were continually taunted and teased by upperclassmen, they still contributed greatly to DHS. At homecoming, the sophomores proved their merit when the student council awarded them the spirit jug for the superior decorating of third floor. The Christmas tree in the main hall was trimmed by the sophomores this past December and under their sponsorship loving messages were delivered for Valentine's Day. Besides all of the previously named contributions the Class of '78 also returned the gym back to normal after this past years prom. Officers were: Todd Black, President; Jeff Mason, Vice-President; Rose Stein, Secretary-Treasurer; Lori Crockett, Social Chairman. Mrs. Larsen was advisor. 90 Abner, Mike Ackley, Donna Adams, Kathy Adkisson, Irma Adkisson, Mark Ahlert, Sue Allhands, Scott Allison, Beth Alvarez, Joel Alvarez, Manuel Amos, Sandra Anaya, Ken Anderegg, Jodie Anderson, Donna Anderson, Lisa Anderson, Tracey Anding, Harland Andrews, Tracey Anglin, Derric Amholt, Angie Astell, Suzette Atkinson, Scott Bailey, Jeanne Bailey, Marla Baker, Cathy Baldwin, Bruce Bannon, Herman Barker, Lisa Barteck, Edward Bates, Laura Bays, Mark Beagle, Patrick Becker, Laura Bell, Mike Bencomo, Emily Bennett, Mark Beresford, Mike Beresford, Tammy Berry, Quintin Billings, Susan Black, Lowell Black, Todd Bland, Scott Blue, Edward Boards, Teresa Boggess, Jack Boggess, Scott Boiser, Cindy Borgeis, Diana Bowling, Edward Bowman, Brad Boyd, David Brandon, Mike Bridges, Brian Briggs, Andrea Brooks, Deborah Brooks, Gene Brooks, Marcus Brown, David Brown, Diana Kay Brown, Diana D. The Senior Class Officers for 1975-76 school year were guided by the advisor, Mrs. Baldwin. Some of the fund raising activities that took place this year were the selling of window stickers and note pads. Early in the fall they also worked with the powder puff football game which took place during Spirit Week. Senior Motto-. The senior class motto, written by Jeff Owen, was: Yesterday we sought, and today we have learned that tomorrow we shall reach our purpose in life. Best Citizens Chosen by their classmates as best citizens in this Bicentennial year, John and Lori have given us their ideas in response to the question Which individual do you admire most in history? JOHN-- The individual whom I admire most is Abraham Lincoln. Through hard work and dedication he used his abilities to their greatest potential. He maintained a strong set of ideals in the face of the starkest reality. I cannot hope for a life as dramatic as Lincoln's, but I can work to attain the same virtues that he possessed. {John Cindeman LORI-- When it comes to my life, I have never found it necessary to pattern myself after any historic figure or to compare myself with them. 'What happened to them was theirs, and what is happening to us is ours.' I believe in looking toward the future and not to the past. Life is NOW! I feel that it is my duty to achieve goals to the best of my ability. In doing so I myself may become part of history. 119 JCori Driver CHRIS KATHY BOB ALPERS AMOS ARNHOLT DARLA BAILEY MITCHELL BAILEY CATHY BAKER DEBRA BAKER JANICE BAKER DIANA STUART MARK KEVIN CARLA BARNES BARNES BARTENSCHLAG BARTLOW BARTOS GREG RICHARD RICK DIANNE CATHY BATTLE BATES BECKES BENSON BENTING 121 LE ANN BERESFORD SID BORDELON KIM BRIGGS RICHARD BLUE NARITA BOARDS DEBBIE DAVID BOLTON BOOE KELLY CHARLES CINDY CARLA BOSTWICK BOWEN BOWEN BOYLES CARRIE CHRISTINA JANET RODNEY BRITT BROOKS BROOKS BROOKS 122 JANET JENNIFER CARLA HARVEY BRET BROWN BROWN BRUDER BRYANT BUCHANAN WARREN ED BUCK BUICE JOHN BUNT AIN KEVIN BURLEY KELLY TERESA DIANE BURROUGHS BURROUGHS BURTON 123 TODD DOROTHY MARY DUANE MARY BETH CAMPBELL CARPENTER CARPENTER CARTER CARTER CAROL CASTER TERESA CAUDILL DAN CHALKUS DEBRA CHARLES JEFF CHESMAN MARK CATHY CHEUVRONT CLAPP CHRIS PATRICIA CLAYPOOL CLIFTON I CYNTHIA KATHY GREG MARGIE TIM CLOYD COCHRAN COCKRELL COLE COLE KATHY PENNY THERESA RAFAEL CRYSTAL COLLEEN COMBS COMRIE CONTRERAS COOPER DEBRA JAMI SCOTT DAVE ' SHERRY COOPER COOPER COOPER CORBIN CORNETT ROGER RANDY NEIL DAVID VIRGINIA CORNWELL CORRELL COSSEY COSTELLO COTY 125 PHILIP CHRIS BRIAN KIM BELINDA COUTS COVILLE CRATZ CRAVENS CRAWFORD DAVID MARILYN KIM LISA MIKE CRAWLEY CRIPPIN CRUSHSHON CULLISON CULP TERESA JOHN KATHY ADRIENNE LORI CUNNINGHAM CURRY CURTIS DAVIS DAWLESS CYNTHIA KATHY SHERI DELLA JIM DEEKEN DEFEBAUGH DEPKE DERRICKSON DERRICKSON 126 SCOTT THOMAS JOHN DOUGHERTY DOWELL DREWS STEVE TAMMY DREWS DREWS 127 DEBBIE FINKLE MICHAEL FAHEY COLLEEN FINLEY SANDRA EDMUND WILLIAM EMERY KARI FENTEM MIKE FORBECK TRACY ENOS WENDELL ERSKINE LINDA FILICSKY VERONICA FINCH SUE EBERT ALAN ELDER TERESA ESTES RICHARD ECKEL MARLO ELLIOTT 128 KEVIN GILPATRICK JULIE GLAVEY JEFF FOSTER JULIE FOSTER MARY FOSTER KEN FOX JOHN FRAZIER MARK GEBO JOHN GLOVER BUDDY FREED MARK GALE SUE FREDERICKS GARY GENTRY RANDY GOFF BRIAN FREELAND PENNY GILLILAND GREG GOIN LISA GARRISON TERRI KATHY TOM JULIE DENNIS GOLDEN GONZALEZ GOODWIN GORE GRAHAM DARRELL HALBERT DAVID HALLS KAREN HAMILTON TIM HAMPTON RODNEY HATCH DAVID JACKIE CHARLOTTE HARDEN HARDESTY HARDY 4 SANDRA HATHAWAY SHEILA SHERRY TOM TOMMY LINDA HARMON HARMON HARMON HARRIS HASTINGS MIKE DEBBIE HAYDEN HEFLING TED TODD JOHN JOE EDWARD HENDRIX HENDRIX HENRY HENSOLD HERSHBERGER DON BILL BART RHONDA MARK HIBLE HICKS HIGH HIGHTOWER HILLSMAN INGUE STEVEN DAVID DON RUSSELL HOBBS HOLDAWAY HOLMES HOLT HOLYCROSS JIM HOUPT DAVID HOWELL JANA HOWE SHERRY HOWELL JANICE DOMINIC JANICE JAMES TILL HOWIE HUERTA HUGHES HURLEY HUSTER JENNIFER STEVE CAROL JULIE MARK HUTCHERSON INGALSBE JACKSON JAMESON JANESKY JOE PATTI DAN KEITH DAVID JARUSESKI JARUSESKI JENKINS JENNINGS JETT JOHN TIM JONES JONES THERESA TERRI JOYNER KAGELS 134 SHARON KLEINER MICHAEL KNAPP TERRI RUTH KOCH KRUEGER STEVE KUHN TRACY KURAS TIM LAMBERT TAMMY PAM LANDERS LANDSDOWN ELLEN LANE JILL LAWRENCE KELLY LE CONTE YVETTE LEEK TED LEVERENZ ALEX LEWIS 135 BETH LEWIS r l NOBLE LEWIS MAZZIE MICHAEL JOHN LILLARD LILLARD LINDERMAN £ GARY AUTUMN VERN LINDLEY LINNE LORENZ ✓ STEVE MARTY DEBORAH MICHELE CAROL LYNN MALAN MARACK MARIAGE MARROW AMANDA JOHN PAULA KATHY MONROETTA MARTIN MASON MASULIS MAYBERRY MELZER r RICHARD BARBARA MARK MIHM MILLER MILLER MARY JANE RODNEY GEORGE MILLER MILLER MILLIKIN DEBBIE ROBERT STEPHEN PATTI ALMA MINGEE MITCHELL MITCHELL MONKMAN MOORE CINDY MOORE MIKE MOORE TIMOTHY MOORE RICK MORGAN LAWRENCE MORRIS LYNN MOULTON EDWARD MULLINS BARBARA MURPHY LAURA MURRIN BARBARA MUSGROVE MARK MYERS PAMELLA MYERS DEBRA MC BRIDE GARY MC CL AIN MARILU MC COLLUM CAROLYN MC COY RICK MC COY LYNN MC GREW DAWN MC MIL LAN BETH MC NEIL RICK MC QUOWN RICK NASSER ALAN NEFF VICKI NEILSON BRENDA NELSON 138 JAMES DONNA NELSON NIMRICK LINDA NIXON MYRTLE KATHY NOBLE NOLAN KAY KELLY OBERWORTMANN O'BLENIS TIM REBECCA TERRI JAMES JEFF OLMSTED ORME OSBORN OSTERBUR OWEN 139 JACQUELINE PARKER PENNY PETERSON VALERIE PHELPS PATTI PAGE AARON PEARL ART PETONKE JOHN PHILLIPS DON PARKER KRIS PETERSON TINA PERRONE ALVIN PERRYMAN SCOTT JULIE PARIS PARK 140 LINDA DEBBIE PHILLIPS PINEGAR BILL PITLIK MITCHELL PLECKER STEVE POLLITT RICHARD PRENTICE PENNY PRIBBLE LINDA PRICE JOY PROFIT MARTY PAMELA PRYOR RAYBURN GREG REED IVY REED GAYLE REEVES CATHY REFFETT DANIEL ROMINE 141 CONNIE GARY LORI CYNTHIA KAREN ROMMERSKIRCHEN ROSS ROSS ROUSE ROY DEBRA LUCY DONNA RANDY KEN RULL RUTAN RYAN ST.
