nM emoriam Dana Bracewell, a member of the Board of Education, died October 27, 1950. Mr. Bracewell was a native of Danville and had attended the Danville Schools. He was an active member and served in most of the official capacities of the Bricklayers, and Stoncmasons' Union, and was a delegate for several years to the Vermilion County Central Trades and Labor Council. At the time of his death he was beginning his second three-year term on the Board of Education. He was chairman of the building and grounds committee and a mem- ber of the athletic and supply committees. Mr. Bracewell was the moving spirit behind the erection of the concession stand built by the C.I. apprentices under the supervision of the Danville Building Trades Council. He was also instrumental in obtaining the materials furnished by the building dealers of Danville. The whole school was saddened by the death of Betty Perrigo, daughter of Mrs. E. L. Schick, who was fatally injured August 29, 1950, in West Lebanon, Indiana, when she fell from a horse onto the pave- ment. Betty's friendly personality made her extremely popular among all students of D.H.S. She was an active participant in many organizations, including Dramatic Club, Girls' Club and Y-Teens. This year she was to have been News Editor of the Maroon and White, her junior year. She was born May 21, 1934 and was a graduate of Garfield School before her en- trance into D.H.S. She was also a member of Central Christian Church. 161
