The Clarion '56 Class Poem Once upon a time in a nursery rhyme, Two little girls got bright. They sat down and with a frown, They wrote of the blue and white. Mary Ellen is not very bold, But that girl has a heart of gold. As for being smart, Elizabeth is lirst rate, But she has a mischievous trait. Rosalie Schaub is never quiet, When she is around there'll be a riot. Jim Loney, who isn't very small, Likes them short, and not so tall. Doris Nyhart has that look in her eye, It might be because she has her guy. Happy, good natured and full of fun, Martha Mickley is a friend of everyone. Tracy's noted for her many crushes, From the old to the new she always rushes. Sue Mills is our D. H. S. cheer leader, And when she yells it is hard to beat her. Leon, who is shy and afraid of lasses, But is a star in all his classes. Laughing at this, laughing at that, Nobody knows what Sheila's laughing at. Keith Armstrong is like a singing bird, Never for anyone has he a cross word. A cute little miss with a taking way, Mary Sue stores up knowledge day by day. A giggle, some gum, a joke to tell, Make up Bonnie, who's liked so well. Lyle Lyons has that roving eye. But you can't say that he is shy. Merl Hall goes about with a quiet air, We know he's bound to go somewhere. We mention Dave Colopy's out of town girl friends, Many beginnings but very few ends. Lanny's been with us quite a while, With lots of laughs and great big smile. Jane Zimmerman is full of fun, She'd talk a leg off anyone. Paul Durbin acts a lot like his brother, But more of us wish he'd act like his mother. Jeanette's future is quite secure, She's getting married and that's for sure. Larry Shrimplin's a ornery cuss, Girls to him are a real must. Irene Scoles is now her name, But it won't always be the same. Full of pep, young and spry, Georgie Myer is quite a guy. Fussing and fuming, but neat as a pin, Nancy's sure a young man to win. A manager still and faithful is he, Harold Wolford, the only one that could be. Jim Hashman, one of our brains, Going to college is one of his gains. When Diana Cornell Came out of her shell, They chose her queen, And did it well. Dorothy Trego, the blonde in our class, Is not at all a quiet lass. She drives a light blue Oldsmobile, And brother, when she gets behind the wheel. Larry Grassbaugh lives basketball, eats basketball, And sleeps basketball during basketball season, He'd better give Alice a real good reason. Joyce Mizer is quite a belle, She grew up and did it well. One nite Doc McMillan had an accident, And now they say her head is bent. Mariam Payne has what it takes, all right. Her disposition is sunny and bright. Everyone knows Raymond Vess is a brilliant lad, He's easy going and doesn't get mad. Helen Fesler innocent and sweet. Not backward in school or in the back seat. Dean is seen often around the town, On his face is never a frown. Dick Butts, that lad from the farm, Never did anyone any harm. George Gullet is really quite a boy, But the girls he likes to annoy. One of our Raymonds is quite a Bell, He's very cute and dresses well. Charles drives a Chevie all the time. And believe me that car won't stop on a dime. If you think that we're finished, pardner You don't know reliable Richard Gardner. With a frown we wrote this ditty, But don't you think it's mighty pretty? We have rhymed every name in the class, Told a little on every lad and lass. Helen Fesler Mary Anna Tracy Page Twenty-seven
