The Clarion '55 Dedication We, the Senior Class of 1955, wish to dedicate The Clarion to Mr. Michael O. Mike Smithhisler, in appre- ciation for his friendliness and untiring effort for the benefit of our class. While Mike deserves recognition for the generous aid he has given to us, the purpose of this dedication is rather to pay tribute to his outstanding Christian character and service - a recognition not only of what he has done but of what he is.

The Clarion '55 Editorial The school year of 1954-55 is just about completed and we, as seniors, can now only look on our school days as being the happiest days in our life. As we grow older we will try to remember our day at good old D. H. S. Will our memory fail us? Perhaps, then we might dig through some old books and find our yearbook, The Clarion of 1954-55, which contains between its covers enjoyment and maybe a few good memories. Many people contributed their time and patience, thus making our annual possible. We thanked the teachers for their guidance in helping us on the long but happy road ahead. For memories of the road behind us The Clarion staff deserves much recognition for collecting and writing the material and especially Mr. Senft who helped us through our big troubles which seemed much smaller to him. But we were aware that something was missing. Our gratitude had been expressed, yet it seemed that we had not expressed ourselves as wanted, and now, turning back the pages of time, we would really like to show our appreciation for the things which they did were closer to our hearts than we realized. As we leaf through our book we stop now and then to remember a face and to connect it with an event in our school life, but the book must come to an end, and so must our reminiscing. We put the book back on the shelf, and now we more fully appreciate our school days through The Clarion with the returned happy memories of D. H. S.
