Forward Ever, Backward Never Last September forty students entered room 125 to become the seniors of 1955 under the supervision of Mr. Senft. Three of our classmates withdrew, Juanita Crane, Betty Doyle, and Sylvia Cagwin, and we had one new student enroll, John Kucheravy. A Christmas party was enjoyed by all on December 15, a Halloween party on October 30, also a class party on February 21. November 5th marked the annual homecoming. Our queen, Marilyn Shaffer, was chosen by the football team. For our senior attendant we chose Alma Butler. The seniors on the Honor Society were Ann Blanchard, Eva Banbury, jane Harlett, Rita Greer, Rita Elksnis, Kay Mizer, Shirley Rice, Ida Lorenzen, Marilyn Shaffer, Carol Spearman, Jean Durbin, janet Durbin, Tom Severns, and John Kucheravy. We had seven seniors in the band. They were Ann Blanchard, Marilyn Shaffer, janet Durbin, Betty Durbin, Shirley Rice, Tom Severns and Bob Beck. News staff members were Kay Mizer, Carol Spearman, Jane Harlett, Ida Lorenzen, Betty Durbin, and Eva Banbury. The boys participating in football were John D. Lauderbaugh, Charles Colopy, Carl Blubaugh, jim Colopy, and Don Shackle, and in basketball, Don Shackle. The senior cheer-leaders were janet Durbin and Shirley Rice. Varsity D members from the senior class were janet Durbin, Shirley Rice, Marilyn Shaffer, jim Colopy, Tom Severns, john Lauderbaugh, Don Shackle, Bob Wolfe. We wish to thank our parents and teachers for the help they have given us in making our years in D. H. S. very happy ones. jane Harlett Page Twenty-one
