Last fall thirty-three students trouped across the threshold to become full- iledged seniors under the supervision of Mr. Senit. This year we had a weiner roast with a hay ride afterward and a birthday party honoring Charles Miller. Sara Conkle took top honors as both our senior cheerleader and Homecoming Queen with Doris Body accompanying her as senior attendant. Our representatives in the band are Cameron Drake, Dalene Workman, Eugene Woods, David Liter, Doris Body, and Ruth Shultz. Members of the Honor Society are Ioyce Mickley, Sara Conkle, Faun Hains, Dorothy Lybarger, Marilyn Baugher, Nola Smail, Kathleen Finan, Doris Body, lean Schisler, David Liter, Larry Greer, Harold Frank, Lee McConnell, Paul O'Donnell, Tom Gardner, and Conard Treen. News staff members are Dalene Workman, Sara Conkle, Dorothy Lybarger, Ioyce Mickley, Nola Smail, Kathleen Finan, Paul O'Donnell, Lee McConnell, and Faun Hains. We are proud to have Earl Mickley, Tom Gardner, Charles Miller, Conard Nyhart, Charles Fox, Paul O'Donnell, Harold Frank, Lee McConnell, and Don Laughrey representing the class in football. In basketball, also, the class is well represented by Earl Mickley, Harold Frank, Charles Miller, Charles Fox, Don Laughrey. and David Liter. The Clarion 54 Senior Class History In the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred fifty, it came to pass that, in the month of September, forty-seven students took up studies as freshmen at D. H. S., with Mr. Kaylor as home room teacher. Before long things got under way and class officers were elected. Tom Gardner was president, Harold Frank, vice-president, Ioyce Mickley, secretary, and Dorothy Lybarger, treasurer. The eleven band members were Ioanne Banbury, Marilyn Baugher, Karol Sloan, Fem Hains, Ruth Shultz, Doris Body, Shirley Houck, Cameron Drake, Ed Welsh, Eugene Woods, and David Lifer. Those freshmen initiated into the Alpha Beta Honor Society were Marilyn Baugher, Nola Smail, Faun Hains, Dalene Workman, Harold Frank, David Lifer and Dorothy Lybarger. Sara Conkle, Dalene Workman and Tom Gardner were members of the News Staff. Charles Fox and Tom Gardner were on the football squad. Don Laughrey, Harold Frank, and Charles Fox were on the reserve basketball squad. Sara Conkle was chosen cheerleader for our high school days. Dalene Workman was chosen attendant for the football queen. The following year, one thousand nine hundred fifty-one, with our number decreased to forty-three we again took up studies in September as sophomores, under the home room guidance of Mr. Reese. The following class officers were chosen: President, Don Laughrey: Vice-President, Harold Frank: Secretary, Ioyce Mickley, Treasurer, Dorothy Lybarger. Members of the football squad were Tom Gardner, Charles Fox, Earl Mickley, Conard Nyhart, Bill Summers, Graham Barnhart, and Don Laughrey. Paul O'Donnell was manager. Those participating in basketball were Earl Mickley, and Harold Frank for the varsity and Tom Gardner, Bill Summers, Charles Fox, Don Laughrey, Larry Greer, David Lifer, and Conard Nyhart for the reserves. The sophomore band members consisted of Fern Hains, Dalene Workman, Doris Body, Ruth Shultz, Ioanne Banbury, Eugene Woods, David Lifer, and Cameron Drake. The Brass Quartet members were Doris Body, Ruth Shultz and Eugene Woods. Six new members were added to the Honor Society. They were: Sara Conkle, Kathleen Finan, Ioyce Mickley, Larry Greer, Tom Gardner, and Lee McConnell. Sara Conkle was Feature Editor of the News Staff and Nola Smail, Dorothy Lybarger, Kathleen Finan. Dalene Workman, Paul O'Donnell, and Lee Mc- Connell were reporters. Attendant to the football queen was Ioyce Mickley. We began our junior year in September one thousand nine hundred fifty- two with an enrollment of forty-three, under the home room supervision of Mr. Galler. The following class officers were chosen: President, Charles Miller: Vice-President, Paul O'Donnell: Secretary, Nola Smail, Treasurer, Nancy Durbin. We were represented in football by Charles Fox, Harold Frank, Tom Gardner, Don Laughrey, Lee McConnell, Earl Mickley, Charles Miller, Conard Nyhart, and Paul O'Donnell. The basketball squad had these juniors: David Lifer, Harold Frank, Charles Fox. Tom Gardner, Lee McConnell, Earl Mickley, Bill Summers, Ioe Weber, Charles Miller, and Eugene Woods.
