The Clfzrzmz 53 Scnlor Class Hlstory In September of 1949 the present Senlor Class entered thelr first year of h1gh school w1th Mr Kaylor as our home room teacher From the forty five members of the Freshman Class Harmon Wh1te was elected Presldent Jean Barnes V1ce Presldent Bob Cllne Secretary and Margle Stetson Treasurer The Freshman members of the football squad were Harmon Wh1te J1m Bell Bob Cllne B111 Shumaker and Don Emmert Harmon Wh1te was also on the basketball team Janlce Hoagland was chosen to be a cheerleader for our four years of hlgh school Margle Stetson was honored to be the Queen s attendant Dur1ng February the upper classes 1n1t1ated the followmg Freshman students mto the Honor Soclety Shlrley Mullet L11l1an Zlmmerman Ruth Brown Mary LOUISE Colopy Esther Small and Janet Fesler Janetta and Lunetta Hams Ruth M1ckley and Marlene Armstrong were the band members from the class Jean Barnes Elsle May M1ckley Joyce Landls and Phyllls McM11lan have been the drum majorettes For the forty elght members of the Sophomore Class the school year began September 1950 Mr Reese was our home room teacher and he helped us to conduct our class electlon Janlce Hoagland was Presldent J1m Bell V1ce Presldent Janet Fesler Secretary and DaV1d McConnell Treasurer The two new students were B111 Dye and Dav1d McConnell The class membershlp on the basketball team mcreased by five boys Harmon Wh1te Bob Cl1ne B111 Shumaker Don Emmert Joe Proper and Walter RICE played football The Queen s attendant from the Sophomore Class was Janlce Hoagland The new members 1n the Honor SOCl9ty were Janlce Hoagland Ruth 'Vllckley and Dav1d McConnell Marlene Armstrong Tommy Colopy and Johnny Colopy played 1n the band At the beg1nn1ng of September 1951 Mr Myser as our home room teacher welcomed forty two students to the Jun1or Class The followmg officers were elected Bob Cllne Presldent Dav1d McCon nell V1ce Pres1dent Jean Barnes Secretary and NIHXIHC Yearous Treasurer In Varslty Football were Bob Cllne B111 Dye Don Emmert Dav1d McConnell Floyd M1ckley Joe Proper Walter R106 and Harmon Whlte The Varslty team for basketball had Bob Cllne John Colopy Don Emmert Floyd M1ckley Jur1s Murnxeks and B111 Shumaker from the Jun1or Class The Queen s attendant was elected by the class She was Mary LOUISE Colopy Two major events of the Jun1or Class were the Class Play The Pro fessor goes Hayvure and the annual Jun1or Sen1or Banquet On the Honor SOClety were Ruth M1ckley Maxlne Yearous Ruth Brown Nlary Loulse Colopy Shlrley Mullet Esther Small Jamce Hoagland Janet Fesler and Dav1d McConnell KContznued on page 501 I 1 1 - 1 1 y Q A .
