Sandilos, Director of Instruction at Danville Junior College, was present at the launching of Apollo 8 that carried as- tronauts to man ' s first orbiting of the moon. Mr. Sandilos is Vice President of the National Aerospace Education Council and chair- man of its committee on junior college and university aviation and aerospace programs. Three miles from the launch pad at Cape Kennedy, Mr. Sandilos was one of a 48-member group of educators who watched Astronauts Borman, Lovell, and Anders blasted off into their historic moon-trip.
