DANVILLE JUNIOR COLLEGE ' jPPAPV THE CHRONICLE Danville Junior College Danville. Illinois Volume 5 OANVILLE JUNIOR COLLEGE LIBRARY 1 PREFACE As the sun glides down to the horizon to symbolize the completion of a day, so the sunset of this year ' s Chronicle symbolizes the completion of a day in our lives. As the sun also rises again, another day in which to conquer even higher heights than before will be ours. For the freshman, at the beginning of the year, it meant the end of a high school career and the beginning of a college one. Now for the sophomores it means the completion of one phase of college but thebeginningof anendto alongsought goal. The colors purple and gold are not only for the regal light of experience these years have added to our lives as students but also for the elegant feeling we have of being grateful and loyal as we view our quickly expanding junior college. We of the Chronicle staff, hope this year ' s toook will be a symbol of many friendships and memories, as well as a testimony to accomplishments completed in our ever increasing storehouse of knowledge. EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Mr. Carroll Davis Mrs. Jane Rose Acton IN MEMORIAM Daniel Richardson Michael Brown The faculty and students of ' Danville Junior College regret the loss of two very fine members of its faculty. Especially students and instructors in Vocational Technology miss the quiet devotion of Mr. Carroll Davis, for he taught Mechanical Engineering. Mrs. Jane Rose Acton will be remembered for the verve and vivacity with which she led the Choir and directed Kollege Kapers. We mourn also the deaths of students Daniel Richardson and Michael Brown in a fatal auto accident. Their passing seems especially tragic when we think of how little time was given to accomplish what they might have accomplished.
