At the end of both semesters the college office releases the names of those people maintaining a scholastic average of 4.5. The names of these people are sub- mitted to the local newspaper and are presented before the student body at one ot the regularly held convocations. Karen Crawford and Brenda Kientiez, under the direction of Mr. Howe and Mr. Lynch, were responsible for overseeing the activities of putting together this first edition of the Chronicle. Judy Schwartz and her staff wrote the story of the book. Norman James and Bob Pape, under the direction of Mr. Booth, collected advertisements and sold copies of the Chronicle to the students. PHI RHO PI is a national honorary forensic society for junior colleges. Those students who excelled in Speech 100 were invited to join D.J.C ' s Mu Chapter. CHORUS: This year a D.J.C. chorus was organized and met on Thursday evenings. The chorus members were anxiously awaiting their first appearance in Kollege Kapers.
