Glass AIBISIIJFQ In 1950, the Class of ' began their climb upward in the halls of hi her learning with 37 members Evelyn Bergh, Roger Brandt, Fern Damhof, Dick Du ek, Kenneth Elfering, Jerome Filzen, Daryl Fischer, LeRoy Frieborg, Robert Goberisch Larry Good, Roger Grund, Ronald Heinemann, Georgiann Hoekstra, Susan Hoekstra, Alvin Hoogheem, Janice Hoffman, Lester Jakel, Thomas Kopel, Howard Kramin, Charles Krause, Marlyne Lohmeyer, Joe Malacek, Jo ce Malvin, Mary Ann Manthei, Howard Mueller Kenneth Mueller, Arvid Reetz, Arv n Reetz Delores Schemmel, Patrick Schemme , Dennis Schoenin , Jerome Schwartz, Russell epfer, Carol Van Den Einde, Myron Vogt, Kalmon Vos, an Albert Van Buren As the Green Freshmen we received the old ritual of initiation on October 20, 1950 After this trying ordeal we managed to return to school the following day The officers for our Freshman ear were Pres Robert G , Vice Pres Geor iann H , Sec Treas Susan H Our a visor was Miss Ulvick en we came back to school in the fall we found we had advanced another year towards our goal We were now the Sophomores We lost four members Evelyn B , Susan H , ron V and Dennis S W gained one Paul Lenz Our officers were gras Kenne h E , ice Pres Roger B , Sec Treas Fern D Our advisor was Mr anson The year following we became the well mannered Juniors Officers were Pres Wangen We lost one member Kenneth Elfering and ained two James B and Richard D In the spring we were ready for our Junior C ass Play, Let Me Out of Here which proved to be very successful At last we reached our goal We were now the hi h and mighty Seniors Officers elected to guide us were Pres Arvld R , Vice res Orv lle H , Sec Treas Howard M Our advisor was Mr Knutson We lost one member Richard D and gained two Orville H and David K Mary Ann M was chosen Homecoming Queen for 1953 Sh In November we gave our Class Pla entitled Take It Easy under the direction of Mr Wangen and Mrs Halverson is year our class, along with the Juniors sponsored a Homecoming Dance, which was a great success We are able to say that we are the largest class to graduate from Danube Now there were man decisions to be made so we ot busy immediately A Class Motto we chose e Elevator To Success Is Not ing, Take The Stairs W The class chose Blue and White as Class Colors and the Carnat on as Class Flower Along with spring came the Class Trip to Minneapolis, St Paul, and on up to Northern Minnesota and Canada It proved to be very educational as well as inter esting Now we came to our Baccalaureate Service on May 30, and finally our supreme goal, Graduation CLASS FLOWER CARNATION CLASS COLORS BLUE AND WHITE CLASS MOTTO NTHE ELEVATOR TO SUCCESS IS NOT RUNNING TAKE THE STAIRS' 0 .H+ s i 5 X T gwh Q e.MZe.v e.ee e':e 0. 3 Larry G., Vice Pres.
