James Beck, James Filzen, Marlene Fischer, Noel Fischer, Donald Frank, Susie Frank, Kenneth Houdek, Richard Jahnke, Merwyn Kirgiss, Ronald Kissner, Bernard Kohout, Gary Knutson, James Kopel, Orlyn Kramer, Marlen Kuglin, Arden Reek, Arlene Laumer, Delaino Schafer, June Schroeder, Roger Schroeder, Ronald Schroer , Mildred Serbus, Joan Sommers, Janet Sportel, Ardus Tepfer, and Betty Vos. As the Green Freshmen we received the old ritual of initiation on November h. Af- ter this trying ordeal we managed to return to school the next day. The officers for our Freshman year were! Pres. Noel Fischerg Vice-Pres. Janet Sportelg Sec. Treas. Joan Sommers. Our advisor was Miss Ulvick. The next year we found we had advanced another step toward our goal. We were now the Sophomores. We lost two members, Orlyn Kramer and Mildred Serbus, and gained two: Donna Gort and Ethel Van den Einde. Officers elected were! Pres. Richard Jahnkeg Vice- Pres. Marlene Fischerg Sec.Treas. Betty Vos. Our advisor that year was Mr. Hanson. Now we reached our Junior year and were well on our way in Danube High School. Of- ficers elected were: Pres. Ronald Schroerg Vice-Pres. Ethel Van den sindeg Sec.Treas. Ardus Tepfer. Our advisor was Mr. Wangen. This year we lost one member--Donald Prank, and gained one--Celeste Stelter, transferred from Mankato High School. At this time we were ready for bigger and better things. In May under the direction of Mr. Wangn we put on our Junior Class Play Ulf Mother Only Knewn, which was a great success. It was this year that Ardus Tepfer was honored as Homecoming Queen for 1951-52. At last we have reached our goal. We are now the high and mighty Seniors. Offi- cers are: Pres. Roger Schroeder, Vice-Pres. June Schroeder, Sec-Treas. Marlene Fischen Our advisor is Mr. Knutson. We lost one member, Bernard Kohout, and gained one-- Clayton Foss from Pelican Hapids, so our membership remains at twenty-six. In November we gave our Senior Class play entitled nDesperate Ambrosen, under the direction of Mr. Wangen. Our play proved to be the most financial success of any former year. Again we had the honor of another girl from our class as Homecoming Queen. Joan Sommers was chosen queen for 1952-53. This year our class also sponsored a Homecoming Dance, which was a great success. We were very proud to be the first Seniors to hold our classes in the new Danube School. Now there were many decisions to make so we got busy immediately. As class motto we chose nAn Open Mind Leads To An Open Hoad.n The class chose red and white as colors and the rose as class flower. Along with spring came the class trip to Minneapolis, St. Paul and on up to Northern Minnesota. It proved to be very educational as well as in- teresting. Honor students from our class are Kenneth Houdek, who ranked highest and was honored as Valedictorian, and June Schroeder who ranked very close and became Salu- tatorian. Now we come to our Baccalaureate Service on May 2h and finally our supreme goal, Graduation. We now realize we have only laid a foundation for the future, and as time goes on we plan to build something more valuable for the future.
