CLASS HISTORY On September 16, 1946 a group of thirty-five Freshman e live red the Danube High Sohool, they were M. Abrahamaon, E. Eeoker, J. Brietkrietz L. Culbertaon, C. Damhoff, H. Frank, 0. Good, A. Hayek, 0. Holwerda, T. Horejai, S. Jahnke, M. L. Kopel, D. Kramer, J. Kramer, N. Kramln, V. Krauae, S. Lueck, J, Malvln, B. Mlelke, H. Mlelke, N. Molenaar, V, Nere S. Palmer, J. Piper, C. Schroeder, M. Seehuaen, B. Serbua, J. Serbua, M. Sommera, E. Standfuaa, M. Welah, P. Zaake, T. Zetah, D. Zimmer, and M. A. Serbua. Before the year waa over L. Culbertson moved to Marshall. S. Palmer moved to Olivia, B. Serbua moved to Morton, they all planned to oontlnue aohool in their home town. M. Nere, E. Standfuaa, and M.A. Serbua dropped out, and they are now all at home with the exoeptlon of E. Standfuaa who la now married and haa made her home In Danube. The ouatomary praotloe of Initiation rolled around on November first, 1946. After a great deal of rough treatment we managed to re- turn to school the next day. Our class officers werei 0. Holwerda-Pres.; S. Lueck-V.Pres.; J. Piper-Sec. and H. Mlelke-Treas. and our advisor was Mias Engberg and later Miss Johnson took her place. Throughout the oourse of our Sophomore year four members dropped--- out. They werei S. Lueok, M. Seehuaen, and J. Brietkrietz. M. Weloh and S. Lueok resumed their schooling. M. Dolezal Joined our class after previously attending school at St. Margaret's Aoadamy in Minneapolis. Officers were H. Mielke-Prea.; 3. Good-V.Pres.; T. Zetah-SeoTreas and our advisor was Miss Barkium. The following year we became the Jaunty Juniora. This year 0. Good C. Damhcff, H. Frank, and M. Seehuaen dropped out and are all at their homes except G. Good who la married and living in Huron, South Dakota. We were faced by the problem of presenting a Junior Class Play, but under the direction of Mrs. Knutson our play, Amaaing Oracle , was a great success. Officers werei T. Zetah, Pres; P. Zaske, V.Pres; and H Mlelke , Sec-Treaa., and the class advisor Miss Ulviok. It was this — year P. Zaske was honored Home-Coming Queen for 1948-49. The year we have all looked forward to haa arrived. We are now the Sophisticated Seniors. Seventeen students are looking forward to the big day. They are M. Abrahamaon, E. Becker, M. Dolezal, A. Hayek, G. Holwerda, S. Jahnke, M. L. Kopel, D. Kramer, N. Kramln, V. Krause, J. Malvln, N. Molenaar, C. Schroeder, J. Serbua, P. Zaske, T. Zetah, and D Zimmer. Offioers werei E. Becker, Pres; M. Abrahamaon, V.Pres; J. Malvin - Seo-Treas. and Mr. Knutson is our advisor. T. Zetah, another girl from our class, was chosen Home-Coming Queen for 1949-50. The Senior Class Play Miss Jimmy1; under the direction of Mr. Wangen, was a huge success. The proceeds were used for the class memorial and the class trip. Along with Spring came the olass trip to Southern Minnesota and proved educational as well as interesting Iowa Honor students from the class were Terese Zetah, she ranked highest, and was honored as Valedictorian, and Norma Kramln who ranked very close ly became Salutorlan. As Commencement is nearing us we realize we have only laid a found- ation for the future, and as time goes we plan to build sonething more valuable for the future. Class Colors Aqua and white Class Motto Preperation is the key note to success Class Flower Pink Carnation
