Bill Stef fey Captain Girl’s Basketball ...Lucille Allen Captain Boy’s Basketball Jim Stewart Captain Baseball , Myers Fox ATHLETICS Although the Dante Girl’s basketball squad hasn’t had the advantages of other schools in the county it has taken the Bussell County Championship for four consecutive years. In ’39 Dante placed three girls on the All-Tournament team. They were Lu- cille Allen, Marie Ring, and Elizabeth Carty. Gladys Smith was given honorary mention. The boys participated in both basketball and base- ball. In 38 they came up for second place in the county baseball league. In ’39 they took second place in the basketball tournament and. Fred Foxy was placed on the All Tournament team. To the coaches, Ferguson and Coleman, we extend our sincerest gratitude for their three years of compe- tent work. Ferguson, who never once ’’let the girls down”, and Coleman, who built the boy’s teams, will never be forgotten in the hearts of the members of of their teams. 12
