WE HONOR Emma Mead Freytag Ralph Wallace Clements Head of English Department Honorary Principal Emma Mead Freytag became a member of our D C H S faculty in l926 In june of this year she wlll complete thirty one years as instructor in high school Euglrsh here Mrs Freytag is a graduate of the State College for Teachers at johnson Vermont New York Before coming to Dansvllle she had taught in Sarnt johnsbury Vermont Beverly Massachusetts Mount Vernon New York and Danbury Connecticut Mrs Frey tag says What fun thxs teaching has been! My happiest years have been spent in Dansvllle Mr Clements who IS leaving us th1S year after 46 years of teachmg came to Dansvllle Central Hrgh School ln September of 1910 upon his graduatron from St Law rence Unlversity where he eamed hrs B S Degree During hrs flrst years at D C H S he taught elementary bxology physlcs and football basketball and baseball teams He was appolnted Vice Pnnclpal for at that tune there was no prrnclpal When superln tendency began he became Prmclpal and held thrs position for about 25 years and also of New York University, New York. chemistry, He voluntarily helped coach the 4
