CLASS HISTORY E the Class of 48 recall our last Four years of school wlth prlde and satis faction rn a rob well done To lead us rn our trrst year of struggle were Kenneth Spencer as Presrdent Paul Black as Vrce Presrdent Betsy Herrrck as Treasurer and Nancy Huston as Secretary Our outsrde actrvrtres were few forthe year was devoted entirely to becomrng acquarnted wrth Senior Hugh School In our Sophomore year with a galn of knowledge and pride for our Alma Mater we also gained a total of S84 00 for our class treasury Thus was brought about under the able asslstance of class advrsors and our offrcers Eugene Schle dorn as Presrdent Richard Fox as Vrce President Jean Beatty as Secretary and Betty Baldrng as Treasurer A lrttle older and wrser we entered our Junior year under the leadership of Bernhardt Lang as President Kenneth Spencer as Vrce President Dons Knapp as Secretary and Greta Grbson as Treasurer This was a bug year for us frnancrally and otherwrse On our marvelous Junior Prom Suddenly lts Sprung w cleared S140 00 Thus along wrth our sweater dances proved frnanclally good Our class worked well together and our efforts were worthwhrle Then we ascended the last step In our clrmb to graduatron our Senror year' Totalrng 88 members our class elected the tollowrng as Its officers Eugene Schledorn as President Wrlllam Fredenburg as Vrce President Anne Van Derwerken as Secretary and Jean Beatty as Treasurer We began the busiest student s mdrvrdual account Next came our Senror Ball The Mardr Gras other success whrch put S130 00 In our treasury Following that was our Senior Play Home Sweet Homrcnde drrected by Mrs Freytag whrch was a success both financially and dramatrcally Then came that long awaited week In March The week for our Senror Trrp' OFF to Washrngton we went under the care of Mr and Mrs Bradley and Mr and Mrs Morgenleld to spend a grand and hr larrous week On our dusty and tlred return we began 'Final preparations for that ulrrmate end To achreve that end we have been indebted to Miss Brown our kindergarten teacher to each and every teacher whose care we have felt to our present day advrsors Mr Clements Mrs Freytag Mr :le Mrs Purchase Mrss Hunt and Mr Frnch Our gratitude goes to Mr Plllard 'l Mr Bradley and to the Board of Educatron From our childhood they have h d u to become what we are and to achieve that hnal goal graduatror 15 I ' U U I I I - I ' I I I ' I I . . .
