GIRLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Girl's Athletic Association has had a very pleasant and profitable year with many good times shared by all, Some ot the highlights ot the year were: a Sadie Hawkins danceg a swimming party at the Hornell Y. M. C. Ag a Valentine's portyg a trip to Rochester, including a spahetti dinner at Caruso'sg and a picnic at Stony Brook State Park, which ended the activities for the year. Officers: Patricia Smith President Janice Knappenburg Secretary Nancy Huston Treasurer Donald Traxler President Charles Howe ice President Bruce A omb Secretary David Tracy Treasurer Ralph Chapman Junior Red Cross Representative Be-rnhardt Lang Reporter The local chapter has taken an active part in the County F F A activities Charles Howe otficiated as secretary and David Tracy as treasurer of the county organization Much interest was shown in the county F F A basketball league Donald Traxler served as captain for bership in the ecand team included Gordon Luce Bernhardt Lang Donald Long Paul Weidman and Gerald Part idge In the County Cattle Judging contest held on April l2th Neil Englert and Merritt Perkins each garnered 530 points which score placed them among the winners Donald Traxler our President was also honored by being elected Vice President of the Senior Class and was included in the upper third ot his class in scholarship for the year FUTURE FARMERS GF AMERICA '92 V - the year.. The members at the tirst team were Dave Tracy, Charles Howe, Bruce Acomb and Richard Goho. Mem- ' S ' , , , BAND The band and orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. Carl J. Frank, had a successful year. The high- lights of the season were the All-State Sectional Music Clinic, held in the D. C. l-l. S. auditorium, and the An- nual Concert. Mr. Frank, who returned from a year's leave in New York City, was chairman of the Clinic as well as guest director of the orchestra at the Fredonia State Teacher's College Section of the N. Y. S. S. M. A. Hondelink, has received much praise for its work. Membership is limited to seventy senior high school girls of superior talent and experience, .lane Holden is secretary of Girls' Glee Club, and Peggy Beatty and Gladys Cork are mistresses of the robes. Miss S. Maud Bavford is the very efficient accompanist. Publi: performances included the annual concert in May, the Christmas assembly, the Adult Education Conference, the Union Thanksgiving Service, and Baccalaureate services. In addition, eight of the girls were chosen as members of the Sectional All-State Choir, seventeen girls sang in the Livingston County Chorus which performed for the Teachers' Conference at Geneseog senior members of the chorus sang between acts of the Senior Play, and at the Rotary Club, others sang for the Presbyterian Women's Association, and for the Sunshine Circle program. Several soloists have taken part in various community programs, and high schocl assemblies. The A Cappella Chorus is one of the three extra urricular choruses Rehearsals are held on Tuesday Margaret E l-landelink is the director Miss S Maud Bayford the accompanist and Doris Shutt the secretary According to custom the A Cappella Chorus gave a program of Christmas Music at the Rotary Club It also sang at the Annual Concert the Union Thanksgiving Service and at the High School Christma assembly A CAPPELLA CHOIR '74 l l s g gc s l noons. Membership in the chorus is open to all senior high school students of musical interest and ability. Miss -. e 4 MIXED CHORUS The Mixed Chorus, com:osed of seventyvfive students from the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth years, has completed another successful year under the capable direction of Miss Margaret E. Hondelink. The excellent accompanying of Miss S. Maud Bayford has added mu:h to the success of the chorus. Shirley Woods is the secretary. Eleven members of the Mixed Chorus were chosen for membership in the Dansville Sectional All-State Choir, seven pupils sang on a radio program over the public address system promoting the collection of old clothes foi European Relief, The Mixed Chorus sang at the Union Thanksgiving Service, the high school Christ- mas assembly, and the annual concert. The Ninth Year Chorus of fifty pupils will help to furnish singers next year to take the place of Mixed Chorus members who will be lost by graduation.
