Competttive Spmt Gives Band Fame Out in front of the marching band and out in front of competition at contests are the Twirlers for the band. Pictured in regulation uniform and in their Indian costumes are Vicki Caffey, Debbie Roland, Jean Probis, and Lisa Smith. Both the twirlers and the Marching Band re- ceived Superior rating at the Dis- trict marching contest at Tahlequahz twirlers also received a I rating at the Lawton Superior Band contest while the Band picked up a ll. The Band competed at the Tri-State Fes- tival at Enid again this year, re- ceiving top ratings. Also pictured along with the full Marching Band are the elected of- ficers including Steve Harper, presi- dent: Steve Ramsay, vice-president: Susan Holland, secretary: Renee Hol- land, treasurer: Bill Campbell, his- toriang and John Johnson, chaplain. Transforming into a concert band at the end of football season proved to be the usual chore with a new type of music and new tonal structure to master.
