1 l 1 Webster's art department offers a variety of creative opportunities in its curriculum. The classes range from the instruction in basic art for the funda- mental concepts to advanced art and form design. The more advanced art courses offer the individual an opportunity to expand his knowledge through his own creativity. Art Gives Creative Freedom 4 Special Education is a program to provide skill-training for students who have special needs. With the help of fed- eral funds, equipment, and highly skilled instructors, the students have perfected skills and held many part-time jobs -- earning while learning. ndustrial Students Perfect Skills in Shops Industrial arts help students learn trades which will be useful to them fol- lowing graduation. This phase of education ranges from on-the-job training in Distributive Edu- cation to preparing stage sets for assem- blies to planning a house in drafting classes. Other classes in this field of education include vocational auto mechanics, power mechanics, vocational machine shop, ma- chine shop and Woodworking I and II. Students in these classes are supplied with a great variety of equipment and ma- chinery as well as highly competent super- vision. The students work on various pro- jects which require individual initiative and creativity. In addition. to valuable vocational training, this department also provides students with the opportunity to develop an interest in many hobbies such as photo- graphy, stagecraft, woodworking and metal crafts. Basic instruction here provides the students with the incentive to do their work well and within assigned limits. Coop- eration is also instilled.
