Earlier in the season at the Bristow Tourney Kilgore and Hayes re- ceived top honors, Ross and Taylor thirds, and Brown and Willis tourthsg at the Edison tilt Kilgore and Taylor placed tirstq Hayes, Willis, and Wiley tourth. Webster toolc 5th place in the Regional Tournament out ot a tield ot thirteen, 4th place in the Bristow meet and 6th place at Edison. Dual meets saw the Warriors tie Sand Springs I8-all: lose to Sapulpa 2l-26 and Memorial l4-27, while deteating Bartlesville Sooner 20-l5, Washington 49-3, East Central 22-20, McClain 28-I7, and Broken Arrow 28-l l. Don Favor, Webster's new wrestling coach, saw his team get ott to a slow start, but improve rapidly as the season progressed. The slow start was evidenced as no l1Varrior ranlced in the school's own Tournament, giving the school an Sth place. Taylor, Kilgore Take State: Hayes Second Advancing the Webster team to a 'Fourth place in the State Wrestling tournament, Taylor and Kilgore brought home top honors and Hayes ranlced second. Webster placed behind Stillwater, OC Southeast, and Kelley in the tield ot twenty schools. Taylor and Kilgore each won by de- cisions and Hayes lost his tinal tilt by a reteree's de- cision. Stillwater and Kelley each captured three gold medals in the tourney and Webster and Sapulpa each tool: two. Taylor graduates this year leaving Hayes with one more year and Kilgore with two to go.
