Practicing Leadership X Leadership is a prime requisite for success in modern living. The ability to make wise decisions and the ability to lead others in solving problems are very important in today's society. Daniel Webster High School, through its many activities, both curricular and extra-cur- ricular, provides opportunities for the develop- ment of leadership qualities in every student who wishes to participate in the activities. One of the most important of the school organi- zations is the Student Council, whose purpose is to regulate student activities and provide for student participation in the government of the school. In the Student Council students have excellent opportunities for serving their school and at the same time performing duties which will help develop in them qualities of leadership. These qualities, developed in high school, will become increasingly important as adult life brings more problems and more responsibilities. By following democratic procedures in all of its activities, the school is developing leaders for our democracy. Pictures, top to bottom: J. W. Fager and Sammie Jenkins are leaders of our student council. Websterites form their policies by voting on many questions. Norma Hatley is an example of the many students who practice leadership in the classroom. E221
