Soon after the election of of- ficers came the election of Football Queen. The lucky girl was pretty Anita Witt, and her attendants were Anna Lewis and Shir- ley Belden. At the end of yearbook sales in December the VVarrior Chief was announced to be Bill Don Walker. His senior Brave was Marty Edwards. The Senior Core activities were begun with a trip to four of the leading churches repre- sented in Tulsa. Other core activities includ- ed a dinner and a tea. On December Q, the seniors held a spaghet- ti dinner and party in the cafeteria and girls' gymnasium. Lzel Seniors played an important part in the sports activities this year. There were six- teen football lettermen, and the whole class was out backing them. There were only two lettermen in basketball, but that certainly did not keep most of the seniors from yelling themselves hoarse at the games. The wrest- ling team, with several seniors on it, took the state championship. Two seniors won in- dividual championships at the tournament. The senior play, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, was presented May IQ. The senior banquet and junior-senior prom helped to climax four years' exper- iences at Webster. Our speaker for com- mencement, the last step of our secondary education, was Dr. Eugene S. Briggs from Phillips University.
