President’s Message Time is truly the most powerful and continuous motion. I have found my three years at Daniel seem very short, despite the sometimes long and tedious hours in the classroom. The past year went by so quickly I accomplished little, in school or out. Because of the situation I found myself in, near - failing marks, constantly going to something without any time to go, feeling guilty because I knew this was not the best year in Daniel ' s history - I felt sometimes like throwing in the towel. And I don ' t really know why I didn ' t. Lots of reasons, I guess. My friends at Daniel. My parents. Knowing that I couldn ' t please all the people all the time. The support and co-operation of Mr. Bothe and the rest of the staff. Pride. Just finally realizing that all anyone can do is try their damnedest. THOM YAMASHITA President BENG TYSON Vice-President I still think Daniel ' s the best though. Because you were there. Passing, failing, playing on a team, singing in the choir, dancing, rushing to classes, skipping out. And the thing I ' ll miss most when I (hopefully) leave Daniel will be my friends. So if you ever see me walking down the street, come up and say Hi! I was at Daniel in 69-70 I may not remember you but I ' ll pull out my yearbook and look you up. That ' s what yearbooks are for you know. They are the closest thing to stopping time and turning it back to your memories of Daniel. Cherish them. THOM YAMASHITA PRESIDENT 28

DMCI Student Council The DMCI Student Council, consisting of room presidents plus the student executive, met regularly to make decisions on matters affecting the student population as a whole. This year a great deal of debate centered on the DMCI Scholarship, the possible introduction of the House System, plans for Daniel ' s fiftieth birthday, etc. Thanks are extended to Mrs. Witherspoon for her help as staff advisor throughout the year.
