Governor General ' s Medal LYNNE MAGNUSSON Lynn Magnusson was this year ' s recepient of the Governor-General ' s Medal, awarded annually to the student showing highest qualities of academic ability, sportsmanship and leadership. During her three years at Daniel Lynne has excelled in many fields of e ndeavour. She has maintained a high average, receiving Book Awards in each year, and in Grade XII winning the Merit Award for Maths and English. Athletically, Lynne is an outstanding gymnast and has won Provincial titles in several events. Lynn was editor of the Eye this year, and has also been active in choir, French plays, and was a member of the Reach for the Top team. Lynne plans to attend the University of Manitoba next year. Staff Award TOM KUCERA In a case where the decision between two candidates for the Governor General ' s Medal was very difficult, it is the policy at Daniel McIntyre to give a special Staff Award. This year ' s recepient was Tom Kucera. Tom has maintained a high scholastic average, winning the Merit Award for Maths while in Grade XI and this year the Merit Award for Science, As well, Tom has been a member of the Madrigal Choir for two years and a Reach for the Top team member in both XI and XII. He was Assistant Yearbook Editor this year and found time to write and direct French Plays and be the backbone of the Maths Club. Tom ' s future lies in maths and computers at University of Manitoba,
