Awesome Spartan Defeat Clinches Division Title! This season the Blazer Hockey Team learned the true meaning of the word WORK! Suffering through the heat, humidity, and bugs, the team struggled to improve its skill while Mrs. Lykens invented creative new drills. All of this hard work paid off with a winning season of 1641, and an invitation to the state tournament: a level never reached by any other DB. team. The road to states began with an indescribable game agamst Wyomissing, which clinched the Division I Championship. From there, the team continued to finish third in Districts, A heartbreaking loss to Moravian Academy ended the teams hopes of reaching state finals. Despite the disappointment of this loss, the team will never lorget blue hair, sparkled faces, decorated buses, singing Paradise By The Dashboard Light, and most ol all, The Lawn Chair Boys!AlI of this spirit helped to keep enthusiasm high throughout their season. The selection of Leah Finkbiner and Trisha lohnson to the County All Star Team added to the teams triumph, and successfully capped the season for Mrs. Lykens in her first year as head coach. Even under pressure, Ed Hamilton finds time to clown around. . t .W W . W I, .K Chris Fontana enjoys another relaxing shot under the trees. Wanting for the wind to die down, Mark Wennersten lines up a crucial putt. Russ Hartline lines up an important opening drive. Linksters Swing Successfully Golfers swing into victory!!! The 1984 golf team finished the season with a definite feeling of accomplishment. Nine seniors led the squad to a 7-3 record, 2nd place in the division, and their highest finish in three years. Ed Hamilton, Russ Hartline, and Rick Griffith, the leading golfers, participated in the County match. Hartline played well enough to earn a spot in the district tourna' ment.
