The twenty member razz ensemble hosted the D.B. Sounds Spectacular held March 23, 1985, and made rts fmal appearance at the Sprung Concert, where all the sensors were honored.

Talent Blossoms At Spring Concert Tom and Mr. M try to keep in tune. A talented Todd Depre tills in for Mr. M, Dave prepares tor a county competition. Under the direction ot Mr. Joseph Mclamany, the band worked many hours preparing tor their only ap- pearance at the Annual Spring Concert on May 10, 1985. The Concert Band, unlike the Stage Band, played a variety ot songs from classical and modern music selec- tions such as ln the Hall of the Mountain King, and Where No Man Has Gone Before. 64 Concert Band Standing Stage: Seth Riegel, Lisa Wink, Tom Groscup, Mark Kennedy, Robin Barnes, Matt Rrssmiller, Eric Feick, Bill Eschbach. Outstanding Musicians Spotlighted This year, two members of the Daniel Boone Choir gained positions in the Berks County Chorus. Auditions determined which students would participate from the vari- ous schools in the county. The selected vocalists then rehearsed for a concert which displayed their talents. The concert took place on January 26, 1985, at Twin Valley High School. The 1985 District Chorus Festival, hosted by Wilson High School on January 17, 18, and 19, 1985, spotlighted Jeff Riegner, the sole Daniel Boone participant. During the time of the festival, Jeff enjoyed staying with a host family. The district vocalists rehearsed extensively throughout the festival and performed in concert. Miss Robin Frenz, a rioted vocal director, conducted the group. Each year musicians from the Berks County Schools gather to audition for a seat in the Berks County Band. To acquire a position in the band, students must appear before judges who evaluate their skills in sight reading, solos, and scales. The students chosen for the ensemble then take part in rehearsels. Daniel Boone placed four musicians in the ensemble this year. The band performed in concert on January 26, 1985, at Twin Valley High School. Guest con- ductor Arthur Chodoroff, band director at Temple Universi- ty, led the band through their performance. The District Band includes talented members from schools in seven neighboring counties. This year three students from Daniel Boone successfully auditioned for a place in this select group. The 1985 Festival took place at Kutztown High School on' Januray 31, February 1, and 2. The band per- formed such numbers as Nabucco and Freelance March under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Daniel Dicicco of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
