Participation in the Interact club involves more than simply adding another club to the students list of activities. These members provide valuable assistance to the school and local community. Club volunteers help the little people to enjoy a parade at Hallow- een. Members organize and sponsor the annual lr. and Sr. High Volley- ball Marathons which provide fun and competition while raising money for a scholarship. The club also serves the Christmas dinner for the senior citizens, a rewarding event which draws members together and enhances their fun and good times. The Daniel Boone Youth Education Association is a service organization which helps people throughout the school and the community. This year DBYEA sponsored a toys for tots dance to collect toys for needy children. The club also sponsored a festive Christmas tea for teachers. Throughout the year the club featured Spotlight on a Teach- er and highlighted a teachers activities. Prizes were awarded and homeroom doors were decorated. Under the advisorship of Miss Rhude, the club had much fun while still benefiting from the activities. i My D.B.Y.E.A. members serve delicious Christmas treats. Students In Government: The Force Behind The Student Body Success breeds enthusiasm in Student Council. As student-sponsored events become more successful, the members gain confidence and try newer and larger things. Each time a student dresses for Spirit Week, anticipates a carnation for valentines Day, or prepares for fun at a student council dance, he can be certain that all will go right. As a member embarks on a new project, he knows that the support of the organization, it's offi- cers, and other enthusiastic members is behind him.
