The Future Business Leaders of America, otherwise known as FBLA, gathered throughout the year to apply their business skills to many different projects. Under the guidance of Mr. Jacobs, the group performs various clerical tasks for teachers, conducts fund raisers, and attends regional workshops and state competitions. Daniel Boone Exchanges Foreign Friendships gsiuuh anne van den Heuvel proudly takes us on a short tour ot her homeland. -'19-A-ugqw--19 V W Susanne and Kyoko show us that friendship spans the seven seas. . Kyoko Hatsulxawa displays her traditional Japanese garb From the Orient comes Kyoko Hatsukawa who spent this year at Daniel Boone as an exchange student through Youth tor Understanding. Kyoko's school in lapan differs greatly from our school. ln addition to being an all-girls' school, her classmates include only those students in grades ten through twelve. Some of Kyoko's hobbies and interests include swimming, reading, playing the piano and oil painting. She also enjoys going to the movies and visiting all types of museums. Kyoko believes that the people at Daniel Boone show much school spirit. She regards her exchange student experience as an invaluable one. From the Netherlands comes Su- sanne van den Heuvel who spent this year at Daniel Boone as an exchange student through the Rotary Club. Although Susanne comes from a country thousands ot miles away, she possesses many of the same interests as students here in the United States. She enjoys tennis, baking and wind- surfing, as well as cooking, traveling and going out with friends. She also shows great interest in the music field. Upon her return to the Netherlands, Susanne plans to continue her educa- tion in the health field. She is also considering another year of student exchange. Susanne will never forget her year at Daniel Boone, and she wishes every- one the best ot luck in the future. Exchange Students 31
