DAVID TAYLOR J. CLAUDE SMITH McClelland McClelland JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY 7T HIS YEAR the Junior Class is so large that it was necessary to divide vi it into two sections. The first section is composed of Mr. J. Claude Smith and the second is composed of Mr. David Taylor. Taken as a whole the class has no history for the simple reason that it is still in the mold and is not ready to astound the world yet. Taken by sections only the first section is fortunate enough to have a history. Back in the beginning, when years were young, J. Claude acquired the title of “Church,” and since then he has made that name immortal. The deeds by which he made his name immortal are too well known to require enumeration. But in order that his history may be better understood, I will give you a few marks of his character. First of all, he is good natured. He can take a good joke and he may be taken as a good joke. Then he is opti- mistic. If a girl turns him down he will give her another chance and if she turns him down he, will take the matter up with her uncle. His one great ambition is to be a ladies’ man and he is not daunted by ordinary means. His greatest quality is patience. He watches all girls carefully and knows them intimately in his search for Mrs. “Church.” With these exceptions he is a pretty good fellow and is at least as good as the other half of the Junior Class. —]). 7’. 30
