ommodores honor group he4os school The Commodores are a 9th grade honor student group. They have many duties. Before school the Commodores work at the gates, at the Student Store, put up the Hag and run the svvitchboard. During lunch and nutrition they vvorlc at the Student Store During class the Commodores carry absent pupils' report cards and help in the grade testing. The Commodores usher parents and students at the Christmas and Spring programs. At Open House they show the parents around Dana Junior High. The name Commodores comes from the position of a crew member on a ship. The blue uniform is a tradition from the 4O's. There are 50 Commodores, 10 to a team. They have teams because they all can't work at the same time. The meetings are to assign them their various duties. On Fridays the teams meet and on Thursdays the entire group meets during homeroom. Every June the Commodores have a breakfast to say goodbye to the old Commodores and hello to new ones. The Commodores' sponsor is Nls. Richardson.
