J. Gabe Smith an°d Brandon Migge exchange congratulations as they jog back to their position after scoring against San Clemente. 6. Everybody ducks as Shawn Grubbs takes an aggressive shot on goal. 7. Gabe Smith makes a through pass to Ryan Harrison. For the third consecutive year the fate of the varsity soccer team rested on its final game - versus Capo Valley. However, this time Dana Hills came out victors to make the final playoff spot. Leading the way was senior MVP Gabe Smith who scored twice in the last two minutes of the crucial battle against the team ' s arch rival. o Although the dolphins were unable to win their first match in the playoff, they lost in double overtime. Olamendi congratulated his team for never giving up: in their final six games they lost only once. In only his second year as coach, Olamendi believes the soccer program is on the rise tcx-attain the status it once had as the power- house of the South Coast League. The future looks bright for the emerging gang of talent who now has the experience to play well in pressure situations. „-omar shakill fe ' - w ? »-.
