New Clubs Spark New Friendships Two new clubs were formed at Dana Hills this year: Sports Literature Club and New Friends Club. Sports Literature, led by Advisor Merritt Grimm and President Joe Francis, proved to be a very worthwhile addition. The members of this club raised money by showing popular movies in the Porthole. The money was used to buy books, have guest speakers, and go on field trips to see major sport events. Advisor Grimm said, Sports Lit. was a very spirited class which enjoyed supporting their school teams as well as ones of major sport events, One future goal of this club was to travel to Los Angeles to see the 1984 Olympics. New Friends Club, led by President Kelly Conroy, actively involved all the new students at Dana Hills this year. The main purpose of this club was to involve the new students in a school activity in which they could meet new friends. The club met once a month to have pizza parties and talk about their new acquaintances and experiences. The New Students'Club wos one reason newcomer Johan Kinnamier said, Dana Hills is a great place! 1. Terry Rehmeier displays his spirit for sports. 2. SPORTS LIT.
