Cutbacks Cause Shortages ln Staff, Supplies This year Dana Hills was rocked by a series of cutbacks which were immediately noticeable in some areas. One of these was the loss of the last of the credentialed counselors, who were replaced by guidance technicians. Also obvious to most students was the absence of a trained iibrarian, also replaced by 'xiibraty technicians, similar to the guidance techs. But, as Dr. Flynn said, lt's not so much the cutbacks that hurt us, itlsjust not having enough money to keep things in repair. The lack of money forced the loss of a fuil time gardener, whose duties were taken over by a maintenance crew. The high energy demands cauldn't oe met, and the English department was forced to use San Clemente's old books.
