Doug Andrews was Most Valuable Player, Eric Smyth was Most Inspirational, and John Hawkins was Most Improved. lj The Sophomore Basketball Team: Back Row, Jeff Dye, Mike Smith, Ed Alabran, Bill Wade, Jeff Olson, Coach Thornton, Hans Christenson, Chris Goller Front Row, Bob Hendrickson, Bill Robinson, Tom Thornton, Dick Jeffers KSilling2, Ed Kearns. 25 Ed Alabran hits on a lay up as Jeff Dye readies himself in case of a miss. 35 Coach Thorton works on strategy during a time out. 43 Hans Christensen lets go a jump shot as Alabran and Thorton watch. 55 The Freshman Basketball Team: Back Row, Eric Smyth, Doug Andrews, Mike Samuels, Charles Larwood, Dennis Vinson, Mike Ross, Winchell Jonas. diving. Dana Hills' top three divers are among the top live divers in the League. The loss to San Clemente was a dis- appointment and University's l point victory over the Dol- phins was a heartbreak but the season went as generally expected from the other teams' reputations.
