Fok lowing this work anxiously and hopefully were the eyes of 86 young men and women who marvelled at the idea of being the first graduating class. Now, our last year 1s here. The Future Homemakers of America is an organization composed of students studying home- making in high school. The Dan River chapter is one of the largest clubs in the state. It is an active member of the Piedmont Federation, the Virginia Association, of the FHA, and the National FHA. Theclubhas had many activities this year, with 25 members earning the Junior Homemaker Degree and 13 earning the Chapter Degree. Six girls have applied for the State Homemaker Degree. The FH 7 meets every month and has had two guest speakers this year. Janice Clark, club historian, is the cor- respondent from the club for a national magazine, Co-Ed. Nancy Landrum, club president, is the treasurer for the Piedmont Federation this year and Jean Ricketts, vice-president, has been elected Federation treasurer for next year. A wide variety of activities is carried on by the club throughout the year.
