These are the ones to make our Senior Play a success, Our Senior Play was to be presented March 28, after our yearbook had gone to press, We cast our play early so pictures could be made and that we might have these Moments to Remember as the years pass. Our play was to be directed by Mrs. Naomi Houser and Mr. Frank Fuller, our sponsors, These two have been just wonderful to each of us this year and their patience and guid- ance will always be remembered. 78 Ambrose (Tommy Foster) and Dan'l (Jerry Adams) discuss their problems over a cup of coffee. The Jk untor Olass of 19621963 presents Desparte Ambrose Please Use Spitoon 79 The Junior Class pulled the curtains for Desparte Ambrose Nov. 1, 1962. Everyone enjoyed the play as much as the cast enjoyed giving it. The class is looking ahead to the '63-'64 Senior Play. The cast included: Jerry Collins, Tommy Foster, Jerry Adams, Woody McCain, Pat Webb, Brenda Marshall, Peggy Ingram, Faye McCormick, Faye Adams, Iris Holt, Jimmy Campbell, Eugene Dix, Davey Cole, and Jimmy Hogan. The play was given under the direction of our three wonderful sponsors: Mrs. Shirley Snead, Mrs. Cecile Roach, and Mrs. Naomi Hodges. Without their help and patience we could never have presented this play. Sheriff (Woody McCain) and Dan'l argue about the laziest man in Dead Man's Gulch, namely Dan'l. ae : a “airway To The Stars” aa) Thus the figure is begun, In the picture above Susan Fitts and Ronnie Motley begin the star shaped figure which is symbolic of the banquet theme, Stairway to the Stars . The dance is performed by the officers of the junior and Senior classes and their escorts. The Junior-Senior Banquet is an event that every high school student looks forward to with great anticipation, The Junior Class honors the Senior Class with a formal dinner and dance. The theme was carried out during the entire evening by Marilyn Neal and her version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star , Valerie and Steve Fitts added more delight to the occasion with their rendition of Don't Let The Stars Get In Your Eyes . The theme song Stairway to the Stars was sung by Donna Campbell. Pictured here is Mrs. Roach, Junior Sponsor, as she crowns Donna Campbell and J. D. The highlight of the carnival is the crowning of a King and Queen from the high school and Prince and Princess from the elementary school. Another annual event at Dan River High School is the Christmas party sponsored by the Student Co- operative Association. The queen of the party is chosen by secret ballot.
