Act The junior play, BULL IN A CHINA SHOP by C. B. Gilford, was presented December 7th in the Dan River auditorium. The cast included: J.D. Clark, Evelyn Dellis, Carolyn Adams, Linda Campbell, Valerie Fitts, Donna Campbell, Marilyn Neal, Jimmy Haley, Gayle Atkinson, Joe Hair, Tommy Bryant and Ralph Shriver. The play was given under the direction of the junior sponsors, Miss Shirley Day and Mrs. Cecile Roach and assistant director, Johnny Franklin. What's she got onher legs? Miss Amantha wants A to know. Feels like nylon! Birdie, look at that Wie. “Oe hemline! DENNIS O'FINN: Hey, you can see in MY apartment from here! JUNIORS Oh let'sdon't pretend, Dennis boy. You've been the motivation for another crime. DENNIS: Jane, you didn'thave to excite the old lady like this. Thisone'sanold sweetheart, she is.

Des Sun t It was a lot of work, but the cast enjoyed every minute of it. After the last per- formance all were a wee bit sad. SENIORS Igot em, I got em, was the joyous shout of Zane Owen when he stole a friend's trousers. Beauty Mud, to make me beautiful for the prom , explains Deanie Marshall. The duties of our sponsors are innumerable. One of their largest is helping with the Senior Play. We could never repay Mr. Fuller and Mrs. Houser for the patience and help which they gave the cast. 22

Koyal Dan The primary function of the school paper is to serve as the eyes to the reader: to reflect the activi- ties of the school. The ROYAL DAN serves as an instrument of education. Itaffordsa training ground for students interested in newspaper work and en- courages creative writing to those students who wish to do this kind of work. It educates the average student in the resources of his school and in its needs. The newspaper acquaints the students of Dan River with the activities of their school so that they will be better citizens of the community. Mrs. Myers, sponsor, works with Faye Farthing, editor, and Patsy Farmer, Linda Campbell and Theresa Fore, managers, in the publication of the publication of the Royal Dan.
