Many shining faces rise early on a Sep- tember morning. Once again the vacations have ended and work must begin. Some are thrilled; others just dread that first day; yet allare looking forward to seeing their dear old friends back at Dan River. There are many radiant faces excited about deciding upon colleges or different careers. Others must get on the beam for all of those special features. Oh! Let's not forget the sports. It's always fun and competition at our Alma Mater. To many everything willbe new and different - clubs to join or plays to give. Even after all of this the light through the arch grows bright- er as the days go by. We, the staff of the 1961 Archway, seek to give to you in the following pages a re- view of this year and its highlights. o Wath t in preparation for meeting the ir new equipmen The science students are making progress with the demands of the future.
