THE SAR GHW AY STAPE Last fall the staff could be seen slaving away to meet the deadline: Miss Howard searching hither and yon for some misplaced picture, Edna Earle pecking away at the type- writer, Ronnie and Landon recording ads, Frenda and Patsy scheduling and arranging pictures at the last minute, James H., Jason, and Thomas writing receipts, some doing a little bit of everything, a few avoiding work, everyone determined to create ''the best yet . However all was not work for there were countless gab sessions and get-togethers. MONOGRAM CLUB The Monogram Clubat DanRiveris an organization made up of students who have shown outstanding ability in one or more major sports, Cheerleaders and managers who have servedfor one year are also awarded a monogram. When a student receives a monogram, he is automatically eligible for admission to the organization, but the decision is up to the club. The most important event for the Monogram Club is Homecoming. Each year home- rooms and clubs nominate candidates from which a girl is chosen to reign as homecoming queen and three others are elected as attendants. Their identities are kept a secret until the night of the game. The club promotes fine sportsmanship and friendly competition in athletics, upholds the rules of the school, and promotes interest in sports.
