My W' J X 'N thoughts. We remember that in our first year in Senior High School as Rats , we were sponsored by Pop Osteen and Captain Earley. We elected Eugene Bailey, presi- dent, Pat Crowley, vice-president Wanda Goins, secre- tary, and Ed Altman, treasurer. Our Student Council representatives were Buck Bryan and James Biles. We were well represented in the Glee Club and Band and on the Green and White Staff. Bill Childress won his first stripe on the varsity 'Football team, and several boys started their careers in football by playing on the B team that year. Again our memories rise when we recall our sophomore year. Our sponsors were Mrs. Rentz, Miss Sanborne, and Captain Earley. Again we elected Eugene Bailey, presi- dent, and Pat Crowley, vice-president. Gari Dein Sheffield was our secretary, and Alyce Terry was treasurer. The Student Council representatives were Buck Bryan and Pat Crowley. We were again well represented in all the school organizations including the honor clubs Joanne Kelz and Patty Murphy were on the cheering squad The Sophomore Senior Picnic was a great success Because of the increase in the size of the classes we were told that this annual picnic would not take place after this year. Lillian Burney Courtney Stanton We began our third year with the distinction of being the first iunior class in the new Dan McCarty High School. Our sponsor was Mr. Shelton. Leading our class this year were David Haughton, president, Vent Lindsey, vice-presi- dent, Wanda Goins, secretary, and Gari Dein Sheffield, treasurer. Student Council representatives were Buck Bryan, Alyce Terry, Steve Topol, and Pat Crowley, who was later replaced by Marvin McKinley. Two new clubs were or- ganized-the Keyettes and the Wheel Club. Again we were represented in all the school activities. Ten members of our class were tapped for membershipin the National Honor Society. Loo-king over our old calendar of events, we remember the fine Stunt Night, which our class sponsored that year, and the outstanding Junior Play, Young Lincoln . Both were great successes financially, as well as artistically. Next came a great thrill-we received our long-awaited class rings. There were thrills and more thrills over the Junior-Senior Prom, the first one to be held in the gym. It was wonderful. Most of us waded through our exams, and we could then look forward to becoming high and mighty seniors. Our representatives to Girls' State in Tallahassee were Glenda Cail and Joanne Kelz. Boys' State representatives were Buck Bryan, 'Marvin Mc- Kinley, David Haughton and Steve Topal. As we gather in the corridors of Dan McCarty High School during our last year, we recall all the wonderful times we've had in the past. For the class officers we elected, David Haughton, president, Steve Topol, vice- president, Wanda Goins, secretary, and Alyce Terry, treas- urer. Holding the reins this last year are Mrs. Kuhn, Mrs. Scharfschwerdt, Mrs. Davidson, Mrs. Ropp, and Mrs. Camp- bell. Eugene Bailey was elected student council president. The other student council representatives forthe senior class are Buck Bryan, vice-president, Alyce Terry, secretary, Marvin McKinley, chaplain, and Wanda Goins. As school closed, we knew it would be our last year in old Ft. Pierce High School, because the new high school would be ready for our junior year. CUTEST COUPLE -gf ft A.
