xecutive Ufficer LCDR Charles G. Wheeler graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1954 and was assigned to the USS TELFAIR CAPA-ZIOD. In 1956 he was transferred to the USS BLACK CDD-6665 where he served as Gunnery Officer and Operations Officer. From 1959 to 1961, LCDR Wheeler attended the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, Where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering. In 1961, he was assigned as Executive Officer of the USS KOINER CDER-3311 He joined the Science Department of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1963. During his assignment in Annapolis he completed his course requirements for an ad- vanced degree in Electrical Engineering at George Washington University. In july 1966, he returned to the Destroyer Force as Executive Officer of DAMATO. LCDR Wheeler was recently selected for promotion to Commander. LCDR and Mrs. Wheeler live in Norfolk with their .six chil.dren, Charles, Maura, Patricia, Helen, Michael, and joan.
