You people will I be our leaders in every phase of T life. Your responsibilities will in- .: crease as time goes on and you must meet these responsibilities I J and carry them out to the best of ' your ehihty. N This yearbook represents many hours of hard Work and co- operation. I hope all of you who have the opportunity to further your education will take advantage of it, because education is a priceless item in our life today. Anything Worth doing is Worth doing Well. I hope you keep this thought in mind as you pass through these doors in- afge.e 142.2773 , N. v. 1 to the future. Best Wishes wmaea :.'7f5 T SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE As more progress and technical advance- ment is made in our civilization, it becomes increasingly difficult to give the people the proper education program. It becomes increas- ingly difficult to know What material should be taught and to convince young people the value of school. It is not easy to Watch a good student or any student for that matter, take the easiest courses and continually acquire low grades with- out saying something to them. Fortunately, We have not had too many students of this nature and this reflects upon the high morale and char- acter of the student body. Each year a school system is evaluated for its success. This years analysis is Very favorable to the Dalton students. It will be a challenge to the students of this school to face the world with confidence and a Well-rounded education. The supreme goal of the school district and the faculty is to prepare young people for the future by extending to them the opportunity to build confidence and to acquire an education. Their reward will be your success. It would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to the student body for their cooperation this past year and to Wish all of you much success and happiness. A. chapter is carrying out Focus on Family Friendship along with the other district members as our theme for this year. We attended the District Convention at Big Springs this fall. The F. H. A. has many money mak- ing projects including bake sales, selling sweatshirts, cook books and many other things. The F. H. A. sponsors the UNICEF and the annual Sweetheart Dance. The Sweetheart Queen is chosen from the F. H. A. members and the King is cho- sen from all the boys in the school. We had a Christmas party which consisted of a traveling supper for the members and a dance for the girls and their dates. Some of our Purposes are: To promote a growing appreciation of the joys and sat- isfactions of homemaking. To further interest in home economics. D CLUB The D Club is an organization of athletic lettermen working together to promote sportsmanship, good conduct and team Work. To improve the athletic standard of the school and encourage greater participation in sports. This year the clubs biggest projects have been buying blazers for the Varsity team and raising money for a whirlpool. This is the first year for the D Club and it is hoped that the school and corn munity will benefit from it and help to support it in the future. .1 OFFICERS Dick Rabe ........... However, Elinor fMamal rules the roost with an iron-bound hand. When they learn that Lea- per's lPapaJ rich, eccentric Aunt Molly Cain is visiting all her kin in turn with the object of leaving her fortune to the most needy nephew, Mama goes all out in order to show abject poverty. All furniture and Antiques are stored, they dress in cheap, worn clothes and go on a rigid diet so they can all re- duce and appear haggard and in the last stages of malnutrition. Mamie, the cook, is temporarily fired--a fact she can't seem to remember, and wonders in at the most inopportune times. When Aunt Molly arrives, they find she is a vitamin bug, and starts poking pounds of vitamins down them from A to K. And the things they are forced to eat--well! How Aunt Molly ably and com- pletely routs the Prescotts family ends in a merry whirl of comedy, and es- pecially when they learn Aunt Molly has actually vowed to leave her fortune to the nephew who had the biggest financial success--which is Leaper! Then back to the big bonfire where we have our traditional burning of the dummy. This year something new was added with the burning of the letter P , standing for Potter, whom we played for the homecoming game. Afterwards we had our feast. The day of the game we have our homecom- ing parade with the floats that each class made, pep band, and queen candidates. The parade stops downtown and we have a big pep rally. Finally it's game time and during half time the suspense is to a high peak and the King and Queen are crowned, After the game we have our Homecoming Dance. The perfect end to another wonderful Homecoming, Candidates for Homecoming Queen Sophomore Float: Sail to a Victory Freshman Float: Go for a Victory 1, 2, 3, step, 1, 2, 3, step, 52 Dalton and Potter' in action!
