We stopped for two days to help a farmer pick up his potatoes and used another day to sell advertisements for the football programs. After riding for some period of time, we had our pictures taken by Mr. Davis. Sometime later the band uniforms and the football field were dedicated. We were happy to see people from our group participating in both these events. In the lull between football and basketball, we presented our class play, nYou Can't Take It With You,nand served a banquet to 225 hungry farm- ers and their friends. Then came our name cards and we were busy writing. He sponsored the sale of Bulldog sweat shirtsto the entire student body. We stopped next to sell advertisements for our yearbook. These activities helped our treasury considerably. After another period of travel, we volunteered to help with the Cancer Drive. Toward the end of our trip, we took time out to publish the nLuanna.u We were honored with a banquet by the Juniors. We were still young enough to thoroughly enjoy games and refreshments. We were well repre- sented in music and sports during our first year even though we were too young and inexperienced to make the varsity. Things were running smoothly when we had our 'first rest stop. We noticed that our tires were getting smooth so we had them retread during the summer months. Feeling secure, we boarded our bus for the second part of our journey. Now we had only 53 passengers -our friends from Marshallville had transferred to another line. Annabelle Lehman became a victim of poliomyelitis and was unable to continue on the trip with us. At the controls this year were President Jim Bolender, Vice-President Ima Smith, Secretary Vir- ginia Reed. and Treasurer Raymond Good. Our Super- visors were Miss Campbell and Mr. Lipinski. Our Sergeant at Arms, Larry Gardner, was againthe back seat driver. Maxine Mumaw, John Ellis Sprunper, and Rebecca Stockham were our Councilors. We stoppedbrieflyto order our class sweaters, white and maroon with our class emblem, from Berg's Dry Goods. we had another class party at the Kid- ron Grade School. We were again well represented in both music and sports. We had one majorette and one cheerleader in our group this year. Another rest stop during the summer months helped to prepare us for the next stage of our journey. We had our fuel replenished at the fill- ing station in Room 25. Mr. Berg and Mrs. Shankle- ton were the proprietors. At the controls for this part of the journey were President Ima Smith,Vice- President Bob McGovern, Secretary Rosie Gerber, and Treasurer Shirley Hare. Our Sergeant at Arms, Ray Good was the back seat driver. Our Councilors were Jim Bolender, Rebecca Stockham, and Maxine Mumaw. We stopped long enough to get our class rings from Mr. Van Dersall and to have a roller skating party at Canton. On May 7 we presented our class play, HSeven- teenth Summer,H under the direction of Mr. Jogan. After traveling so far, we were hungry and stopped in China for an oriental banquet. The Seniors were our honored guests. We were again well represented in both music and sports. We now had earned seats on the Varsity teams. After the hard and strenuous Junior year, the engine of our bus was knocking when summer rolled around once more. We called a wrecker to haul it to Room 26. Here Miss Santschi and Mr. Jogan put our motor back in tune. They straightened out our finances and putus back on a sound financial basis durlng our Senior year. We were certainly happy to Aave them with us on this lastpart of our trip. Atthe controls were President Ray Good, Vice- President Rebecca Stockham,Secretary Rosie Gerber, and Treasurer Shirley Hare. Heinz Horn, our Ser- Veant at Arms, was the back seat driver. Our Coun- filers were Dean Sullivan, Elizabeth Mason,k Larry Jardner. Bob McGovern was elected President of :ue Student Council and Don Hofstetter kept order in that august body. Cont'd.
