Our Class was known as The Crew of the Future. There were 60 members who climbed aboard. Before we could become full-fledged members of the space crew, we had to be initiated. There were two new members that climbed aboard during the first part of our year. For our first class party we stopped off at Planet Merriman ' s for a weiner roast. Nowthat we were upperclassmen, many of our crew were in Girls ' Band, Orchestra, High School Band, and most of the members participated in the Mixed Chorus. Our class was represented by one majorette, two football cheerleaders, and one reserve basket¬ ball cheerleader. There were eleven boys playing football from our crew; one, varsity basketball; two, reserve basketball; and a few participated in track and baseball. There were many Important events duringthis part of our ride. First came our Junior Class Play, We Shook the Family Tree. We stopped twice for class parties. Our first was at Planet Douglas ' s where we had a wonderful time participating in games and a barn dance. The second one came at the end of the year when we gave a farewell party to the members of the crew who were transferring to Smithvillefrom where they in¬ tended to finish the rest of their journey.
