Do Dean of Wooster College To-night--Graduation; To-morrow- White Carnation Class Colors; Scarlet and Grey Class hisloryp Early in September, 1942, a large and shaky group of Freshmen (83 to be exact) entered the immortal halls of Dalton High School. We were a little green then, but we progressed rapidly. one of the highlights of this year was the Freshman recep- tion, which will probably never be forgotten by a single member of the class of 46 , after much prepara- tion, we struggled through our first Assembly Program. Finally we had our long awaited and anticipated class party. By the end of the year we lost quite a few members, but pro-= ceeded gallantly on. As our Sophomore year got under way, we found ourselves with only 65 sufferers left. This year was al- most the same as our Freshman year, except that we didn't have the exe cuse of not knowing any better. Not much doing this year, gas rationing, you know. But then we couldn't com-= plain. Three of our girls were cheerleaders; namely, Wilma Buchwal- ter, Mary Lou Gerber, and julia Plance. Also, some of our boys played part time varsity basketball. Either we go through with it or no diploma. arly this fall Donald Starcher went tothe Ser- vice and left us with only 41 mem- bers, but along came Jim Griffith to boost us back up to 42. This really turned out to be a ‘busy year. But we did get re- venge by initiating the Freshmen. They were really first class sports, But in spite of it all, you can bet your boots, that every person who graduates this Spring will always have a soft spot in a corner of his or her heart for the memories of the swell times we have had in good old Dalton High.
