. . . a year which will forever remain a cherished memory for all who walked the halls of Dalton High, because of the influence it had on our lives. The year began with the usual routine of registration as we greeted old friends and mingled with new faces dur- ing the process of getting pictures made, checking our eyesight, buying parking permits, and making ID's. The wait seemed endless, but we all enjoyed the chance to catch up on the latest news. 1. Karen Corn 2. Julie Stefanek 3. Mel Abernathy 4. We were, perhaps, bored with summer and we were eager for the excitement of fall and its many activities. This attitude intensified the enthusiasm of the first football game — the prelude to a great season. Cat- Scratch Fever became the school slogan as we cheered our mighty Catamounts onto one victory after another. The only setback was a heartbreaking 9-0 loss to arch-rival Murray County, which only served to increase our pride and determination. We showed support in a variety of ways — through pep sessions, band practices, and game attendance, along with ex- tremely loud vocal participation. The combination ap- parently was highly successful, for not only did our team emerge as the North Georgia Champions, but we developed the closeness and togetherness which was to characterize the entire year.
